Verizon Wireless has officially posted the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update documentation for the HTC Rezound. While the carrier has not specified a timeline for the update, it has confirmed that OTA notifications will be going out soon, at which time the update will be made available to owners. The update was previously scheduled to be released by the end of last month, but was not delivered in time to meet Verizon and HTC’s joint end of July timeline to keep it within the deadline.
The update for the Rezound will include all of the key ICS features as found in the build, such as Face Unlock for additional security, improved multitasking, Incognito Mode for web browsing, built-in data counter, and bugfixes. This also makes the Rezound one of the last of Verizon’s late 2011 devices to receive the update at 9 months from its initial release, compounding the perception of Verizon’s lack of urgency regarding timely Android updates for its stable of flagship devices.
I bought an Incredible 2 because it is suppose to get ICS. I won’t hold my breath, still a great phone though with CM7.2.
