Verizon has launched the limited edition R2-D2 edition Droid 2 online and via select retail stores. The device is functionally identical to the Droid 2 with the exception of the bodyshell design molded to resemble the famous droid from the Star Wars film franchise along with custom media on the phone and a bundled custom desktop dock/charger. The device is also being sold for a $150 premium over the regular Droid 2 at $349.99 after new 2 year agreement or qualified upgrades before an additional $100 rebate, bringing the total to $249.99.
