Verizon internal documentation has confirmed that the long-awaited Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for the once flagship smartphone will be rolled out after months of anticipation in an over the air update beginning early Sunday morning. Those who do not receive the initial update notification on Sunday will be able to pull the update through the menu starting on Tuesday.
The Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Rezound has been awaited for quite a long time, as the high-end Android smartphone initially launched in November of last year to high acclaim due to its high-end specifications, only to be held back by the fact that it launched with Android 2.3 and meant that a long wait would be in store for the then new Ice Cream Sandwich update, as Verizon is well-known and frequently derided in enthusiast circles for its testing cycles related to new updates which frequently result in being months behind other flagship devices.
Update: It has since come to light that the above image is a (well done) forgery. As a result, AndroidPolice has been stricken from the list of sources for daily news and will no longer be considered a reliable source. Also my fault for not looking at the image closely enough, it won’t happen again and I apologize if anyone was misled.
