Following up on our report on Verizon’s Home Phone Connect service in December, Verizon has expanded the service from its Conneticut and New York test markets to rest of its coverage area around the country, providing competition for services such as Vonage as well as entrenched landline providers.
Pricing remains the same as in the test period, with unlimited service for $19.99 per month plus taxes and fees after a new 2 year agreement with free hardware, as well as add-on pricing for $9.99 per month when added as another line on an existing FamilyShare plan.
Features include Call waiting, forwarding, ID, 3-way calling, international dialing, voice mail, 411, account and emergency access with E911 as well as account balance access.
We suscribed to Verizon Home Connect the day it came out and we are very pleased with the service. It took a little longer to get connected and activated than we expected, but that was really not a problem since the landline phone worked until we were connected, so we were never without phone service. To this point we have not experienced any problems and have great connections even when the cell service is low.
