During an investor earnings call this morning, CFO John Killian confirmed that Seattle and Boston will be the first test markets for the as yet proven standard ahead of the planned Q4 2010 commercial launch. The commercial launch will consist of up 30 additional markets ramping all the way up to an expected 100 million points of presence by 2013.
In related news, the carrier also reiterated its plans to launch its version of the Palm Pre early next year, despite the PR war of words in previous months regarding Sprint’s exclusivity.
That’s awfully close to WiMax’s initial launches in Bmore Portland, to coincidental in my opinion
Is there any word on where the additional 30 markets will be?
I wonder how their prices are going to change to be able to use their lte network. Or maybe if you upgrade to a new lte phone it will just stay the same price.
