Verizon has announced yet another realignment of its service plan lineup less than 18 months after its last major plan overhaul. The changes are set to go into effect this Monday for new customers and customers looking to switch plans, with current customers unaffected.
The plans start at $69.99 per month for unlimited individual voice and unlimited voice and text for $89.99. Unlimited FamilyShare voice plans will start at $119.99 and unlimited FamilyShare talk and text will cost $149.99, both plans including two lines of service.
As previously reported, Verizon Wireless 3G multimedia phones activations will now require a 25MB data plan for $10 per month including mobile email access. Verizon’s entry level phones will still have the $10 data plan option or pay per use access at $1.99 per megabyte.
In addition, Verizon has discontinued the $19.99 data add-on in favor of a $29.99 unlimited device data option. Verizon has also reonfigured its monthly hybrid prepaid options at $74.99 per month for unlimited voice and $94.99 for unlimited voice and text.
I think that this is wonderful.. Verizon is the best wireless service out here.
I dont understand how Verizon expects to compete with other prepaid companies when Straight Talk offers the same unlimited plan for $45! Thats a huge difference and Straight Talk even uses the Verizon networks! It looks like Verizon wants to make a buck from people who just arent aware of the better options available to them.
