US Cellular has posted its first major Android update for its variant of the CDMA HTC Desire in the long-awaited Android Froyo update, which includes Microsoft Exchange support, Flash 10.1, Android Market updates, Portable Hotspot support with tethering plan requirement and improved Android browser. The update requires a Windows PC, while Mac owners are advised to seek a US Cellular retail location to apply the update.
Update: HTC customer support has addressed customer complaints regarding the update and has confirmed that the PDF instructions bundled with the Windows update are incorrect. Â The corrected instructions now make reference to HTC Sync for update path selection and saving the update executable to the machine instead of running the update from the browser, then following the instructions from Page 4 of the instructions onward to complete the update.
