Sprint’s official product briefs on the Treo 700wx and Samsung A900M have been leaked onto the web. The Samsung A900M (formerly the A900P) will be mostly identical to the existing Samsung A900, with less metal on the case as well as support for Sprint MI-UI Themes. In addition, the A900M will also enable GPS applications (such as Garmin Mobile and TeleNav) to be released for the phone. The A900 contains a bug which prevents in-phone GPS software from functioning properly, and will require warranty replacement with an A900M to fix.

Update: Unconfirmed. Sources are reporting that the A900M will not include said GPS fixes. The rumor involves intellectual property concerns that precluded Sprint and Samsung from implementing the fixes from the device. This would nix one of the three primary reasons for launching the device, as stated to us by Sprint directly.
Here is what we do know. Sprint did acknowledge that the Samsung A900, A920, and A940 had a severe GPS problem that would block such applications. They did so on their Application Developer Program in a technical bulletin. As has been followed up, Samsung was only able to update the Samsung A920. The Samsung A940 was being discontinued, and the A900 would require a new model to fix the problem.
The potential is that the original A900P did contain the GPS fixes, but that the final A900M does not. We will follow up as the situation develops.
