Very few of you know that I was an internal beta tester for Mac OS X, as well as an external beta tester for Windows XP. During this time, I was privy to well, a lot of stuff I can’t talk about to this day. But, one thing that I can talk about now is a little project called Marklar (actually, I didn’t know it by that name, but, I�m sure it underwent multiple name changes before and after I had knowledge and access to its efforts). So when I first saw Rhapsody DP2 running on an x86 box ran full circle when Steve Jobs said those now-famous words; “It’s true”.
But, what confirmed my suspicions really came alive when Phil Schiller (senior VP of worldwide marketing) said �we won�t stand in the way (of users who want to install Windows)”. I knew my now non-NDA experience with OS X and my extensive knowledge of Windows XP could really come to use in what will forever be known as �The Third Site�.
An x86 Mac opens many new doors, but personally, the best of all is to be able to run Mac OS X and Windows XP on the same system. Wherever you go, both are there. It�s a concept I hope to further in the new site, Twin Mac. Why now? There are still some unanswered questions that simply hadn�t ever been possible to ask, like what Bootloader is best to use? We hope to answer these questions and many more before the release of consumer Intel Macs. And, upon the release, be able to troubleshoot and guide users along using and buying software and devices so that they work best in both worlds.
