After being sold exclusively to AT&T business customers in September and filing for Chapter 11 in October, TerreStar has opened up sales of the TerreStar Genus and service to consumers via select resellers. The phone will not be sold via AT&T consumer sales channels.  Pricing is set at $1149 with no hardware subsidy and requires a 2 year agreement.
The Genus is a rugged Windows Mobile smartphone with quadband GSM/EDGE and dual-band UMTS/HSDPA support, a 2.6-inch landscape touchscreen display at QVGA resolution, QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi radio, Bluetooth, and GPS support along with Windows Mobile 6.5.3.
