T606: Finally, Finally Dead
Sony Ericsson has finally removed the T606 from their global coming soon page. Some had suspected that there was a significant storage of T606 units that were going to be negotiated to a smaller regional carrier in the U.S. or Asia. It now appears SE has destroyed those units if they ever did exist.
Metro PCS Testing Sony Ericsson T606
I’m getting unconfirmed reports that MetroPCS is currently testing the SonyEricsson T606. They go as far as to say that it will be an exclusive phone. That’s not good news, as MetroPCS has extremely spotty coverage, and currently no internet services (though they are CDMA2000 1x-RTT, so they may launch them with this phone).

Sony Ericsson T606 Carrier Responses
Verizon Wireless – No comment about upcoming phones, even which phones are being considered. Other responses indicate an unawareness to the T606. U.S. Cellular – Will not be carrying the T606. Alltel – My question was forwarded to their product manager, waiting for reply.

Update: Alltel also contacted, waiting for replies. The campaign continues… I’ve also sent off emails to U.S. Cellular. Some have reported that they have already approved the T606, and that it is ready to sell.
