T-Mobile has just announced that it will offer free in-country roaming and domestic calling to Haiti in the wake of the January 12th earthquake and subsequent humanitarian disaster.
Roaming charges and long distance charges will be waived for the rest of the month, will be retroactive to the date of the quake and will be credited accordingly on subsequent bills.
In addition, T-Mobile has committed assistance in the rebuilding of the wireless communications infrastructure currently maintained by partner networks Voila and Digicel by providing generator equipment and cellsites.
Stuff like this makes me consider switching.
I got a Twitter feed from Sprint that said free calls and SMS (text) messages to and from Haiti free of charge and Sprint Foundation donated $50,000 to relief efforts so there is another thing the Top Two aren’t doing!
