T-Mobile has officially announced the forthcoming June launch of the MyTouch 3G Slide, the next evolution of the MyTouch line manufactured by HTC following in the footsteps of the MyTouch 3G.
The MyTouch 3G Slide will be the first to feature a custom user interface developed by T-Mobile that is not based off of other overlays such as HTC’s own Sense on Android 2.1, with custom themes and new software such as the Faves contact gallery and the hardware Genius button with combination voice command/speech-to-text powered by software from Nuance Communications.
Other custom features included in the user interface consist of Swype virtual keyboard integration, DoubleTwist software integration for facilitating media management on Windows/Mac OS X and a new profile management feature called myModes, which functions in a similar fashion to Nokia’s E-Series devices where individual profiles can be created for specific situations with granular management of all information without concern for duplicate information across profiles.
In terms of hardware specifications, the device features a 3.4 inch HVGA resolution capacitive touchscreen display, sliding hardware QWERTY keyboard, quadband GSM/EDGE and dualband HSDPA support for T-Mobile 3G and international roaming, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, Wi-Fi radio and microSDHC expansion slot with pre-installed 8GB card.
