T-Mobile and Nortel Networks have jointly announced that they have achieved a data rate of 170 Mbps on the downlink and 50Mbps upload at 41mph while traveling around the area of Bonn, Germany down a highway within range of three cellsites.
The German subsidiary of the international carrier has also made remarks to Reuters stating that it will make a decision in six months time regarding its 4G network selection, with the caveat that LTE has to prove itself in actual real-world scenarios before a final decision is made, with similar comments made by the head of the carrier back in February, citing that a few of the markets would more than likely be demonstrating the network in 2010 with no word on commercial launches.
