Before the ad was pulled from Sprint’s official YouTube account, a new variant of the HTC One (M8) was confirmed for the carrier in the E8, which is a less expensive version of the flagship that also excludes key features, such as the rear Duo Camera, infrared port, and metallic bodyshell in favor of a high-grade plastic shell.
The phone otherwise features a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution, LTE, BoomSound front speakers, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, expandable memory slot, and a 2600 mAh battery. Sprint and HTC have yet to make an official announcement regarding the E8, though the GSM version of the phone is already available around the world for anywhere between €20-50 less than the flagship M8 depending on local carrier.
