According to a report on Telephony Online, Sprint will be soft launching XOHM service in Chicago and Baltimore/Washington D.C. metro areas which will be restricted to Sprint employees by the end of the week.
The service will expand outward from the metro areas as demand warrants with the trial kept short to focus on network optimization, keeping inline with previously stated projections on XOHM service deployment.
Motorola is handling hardware deployment for the Chicago metro area while Samsung is handling the Baltimore/Washington D.C. corridor along with the Eastern Seaboard.
Nokia will handle the Texas/Southwest region which is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2008.
