As expected, Sprint has launched the Motorola i1 Android smart device online.
The i1 features a 3.1 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, Wi-Fi radio, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, M810F certified bodyshell for resistance to shock, vibration and intense rain, Microsoft Document Viewer, Android standard and Swype virtual keyboards, 5.0 megapixel camera with flash, geo-tagging and panoramic imaging with video recorder along with media player and microSDHC card slot.
Pricing is set at $149.99 after new 2 year agreement and $100 instant discount. The device will be launched via Sprint retail channels on August 8th.
Wow… and the only indication at all that it’s a Nextel device is the iDen tag. Nice work.
Way too little, way too late, and imagine, if you will, running an Android phone on a 19.2kbps data link (which is all Nextel has).
