Sprint Follows In AT&T’s Footsteps, Will Double Data On Select Family And Business Plans

By Humberto Saabedra on October 1, 2014

Sprint logoSprint has announced that it will double data allotments on its Family Share Packs and shared Business plans, in response to AT&T’s own double data promotion. From now until the end of the month, customers on $130 Family Share Pack plans or higher will have their monthly data allotment doubled or nearly doubled on the 32, 40, and 60GB plans to 60, 80, and 120GB, respectively. Current Family Share Pack customersĀ as well as those looking to upgrade plans can also take advantage of the offer, but must call into customer service or go to a Sprint Store to have the increased data allotment applied to the account.

Sprint is also doubling the data on some of its Business Share plans, as well. Starting on Oct. 3 and running through Oct. 31, new business customers picking up the 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB, or 100 GB Sprint Business Share plans will all see their monthly allotments double for the same monthly cost. The allotments will go up to 80/120/160/200 GB and Sprint has also confirmed that all family and business customers who sign up for the promotion will keep the double data rates for the life of the account unless switching plans or switching to a different data allotment.

Finally, Sprint will be continuing to offer up to a $350 credit for porting over a line and a minimum $150 trade-in credit for devices. For customers porting over their number to Sprint, the carrier is also waiving the monthly access charge for handsets, tablets and mobile broadband devices on 20GB and purchased through Sprint Easy Pay or the Sprint iPhone for Life Plan through the 2015 calendar year. Sprint will also waive access charges for devices on 20GB or higher data allowances through the end of 2015 for business customers porting over a number and activating a non-subsidized device with a Sprint Business Share plan.
