Seen Sprint’s commercials for video mail? Seen T-Mobile’s commercial for their video mail? T-Mobile’s Nokia 6600 looking better than that VM4500 for video quality?
Sprint has been taking the honest approach, and not using “simulated video” in their commercials. The Nokia 6600 does not even come close in terms of actual capture or playback quality to T-Mobile’s TV-quality simulations. In other words, T-Mobile is a big fat liar. In order to compete, Sprint needs to do one of two things: either run ads boasting that Sprint accurately shows the quality of their phone or they need to start simulating video themselves.
If Sprint fails to do either, then their efforts at creating a market out of the video phone platform have failed due to the inability to market it.
