Through a press release detailing continued network improvements,
Sprint has announced a commercial launch of their WiMax service in the
second quarter of 2008. This falls inline with prior statements from
Sprint detailing their plans for the new service. The service will
initially cover the top 100 markets in the country and expand outward.
The press release also states that Chicago, Baltimore, and Washington
D.C. will be the first cities to launch services late this year as test
markets before fully launching commercially with plans to cover 100
million people by the end of 2008.
