In addition to the phone announcements today, Sprint also confirmed three smartphone launches for later this year.
The Touch Diamond and Touch Pro have already been covered in-depth on PhoneNews.com. Per HTC’s press release: “The HTC Touch Diamond will be available in September and will cost $249.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. The HTC Touch Pro will be available in all Sprint retail channels beginning Oct. 19 for $299.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate.”
In addition, Sprint today confirmed that the BlackBerry 8350i, Sprint’s first Nextel iDEN BlackBerry in years, is a true Curve model. However, Sprint refused to confirm any launch prices, or a launch date.
I wonder how much the IDEN Curve will cost

I think the Blackberry Curve is going to be a great phone! However, to add icing on the cake, I would give the backing of the phone a rubbery covering as well to make it more durable, the trademark of Nextel phones.
This is going to sell if it’s not expensive, especially if radio, tv and music are included. This phone better not cost much more than the current Curve
LOL @ U thinking that a Nextel phone Without being called a Hybrid… Which will come with a sim card will have TV/Radio and EVDO speeds…Give it up guy…That’s gonna be a brick of a different color….Sorry Nextel you have failed again
I loved Nextel. aside from the **** service I got when traveling. Switch to Srint then to AT&T before Sprint/Nextel merged. Been dieing to go back but, since having a smartphone can’t seem to bring myself to get anything else. I like the Blackberry Curve Design i must say. I been eager to say the least when I heard word of Nextel bringing this phone . Since the merger and the hybrid seen, It seemed awsome to be able to get both service Sprint Service and Nextel Direct Connect.
WTF!! Would they make this so long awaited Nextel use the Iden service after spending so much freakin money to develop the new hybrid system. That seems like the most retarded Marketing plan ever.
Only thing I can think of is that they are going to release this Awsome potential of a phone Dummed down so that they can rerelease it with the EVDO data next time around. POS!! Scam artists!!
Why dummy up a phone. make the damn thing the way users want it.
