Sprint has announced its variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II as the Epic Touch 4G. The phone will be launched on September 16th for $199.99 after new 2 year agreement. The phone can be pre-ordered beginning tomorrow morning with the purchase of a $50 Sprint Gift Card, though it is unclear whether other retailers will be participating in the pre-order program. The Epic Touch 4G will be the first Samsung Galaxy S II phone released in the US featuring Samsung’s own Exynos dual-core processor, as international versions of the phone feature either the Exynos processor or a heavily modified Nvidia Tegra 2 based SoC dependent on market. It will also deviate from the international reference version with a slightly larger 4.52 inch display, although it will remain at the same WVGA resolution as the 4.3 inch version.
