This article on PhoneScoop caught my eye. Apparently KDDI’s (Japanese CDMA2000 1xRTT carrier) auCDMA lineup is getting a set of new 2.0 megapixel camera phones, including one by Sony Ericsson.
Now I know that Sony Ericsson made it clear that they are going to continue CDMA development in Japan, but the auCDMA lineup of phones are almost instantly compatible with Sprint PCS. All current Sanyo Vision phones for Sprint originated in the auCDMA lineup before being brought to the United States.
Could this be an about-face for Sony Ericsson? Maybe, maybe not.
