PCS Intel will continue with its tradition of only reporting on the phones you’ll actually be able to buy. Sony Ericsson today announced several phones, however, only three of them are headed to the United States, the K790a, W300i, K510a and K310a.
The K790a is a non-UMTS version of the K800, featuring full Class 10 EDGE and a CyberShot 3.2 megapixel camera. It also is the first Sony Ericsson phone to have built-in RSS/XML support, as well as push email via P-IMAP. The phone will use Sony’s Memory Stick Micro (M2) storage cards.
The W300i is Sony Ericsson’s first budget Walkman phone. The flip-phone has Class 10 EDGE like the W600i, but will also use Memory Stick Micro, and has a VGA camera. However, the phone will have Bluetooth, unlike past lower-end flip phones.
The K510a is in many ways a refresh of the popular K700i phone, however, it will be sold with carriers in the U.S. It will also include similar OS enhancements as the K790a such as P-IMAP.
The K310a is a basic handset meant to fill the budget and prepaid markets previously held by the (now discontinued) T290a. The most significant addition on the K310a is a built-in VGA digital camera.
Also, Sony Ericsson announced they will begin integrating Google’s Blogger and Google search technology into future phones, including the ones announced today.
