Samsung has introduced L870, a S60 phone, with a 13.5mm stainless steel body to provide consumers a life enhancing experience. A thoroughly designed “minimalistic” keypad provides just enough space between each key for convenience.
The software features are not only easy to learn but also provide maximized productivity, with full speed internet browser and more than 6000 open applications. L870 features many useful Samsung pre-installed applications such as an advanced task manager Checkit, PIMs (Personal information manager) homescreen, Team manager and business card recognition function.
The Tri-Band, 900/1800/1900MHz, handset supports HSDPA on the 2100MHz band and features a 3MP camera. The display is a 2.4 inch QVGA color screen which enriches the users experience of the full Safari browser from Apple that comes pre-loaded on the phone. The Symbian running phone has 100MB of internal memory while the external can support upto a 4GB microSD card.
L870 is due to be launched in Europe around August and then will be available in all GSM regions.
Update: We apologize for the misunderstanding… we knew better (or rather, most of the staff did). Apple did not design Safari for the L870. Rather, Samsung’s S60 phone uses the S60 WebKit browser, common to other S60 phones. Samsung’s press people didn’t understand the distinction, and neither did the writer of this article.
more “than” 6000 open applications. there IS a difference between “than” and “then”.
It’s not Apple’s browser but one by Samsung that has the same name.
Apple designed WebKit, and Safari uses WebKit… but Safari is indeed not WebKit. And, we’ve noted the distinction in our update.
