During its conference, Samsung Mobile representatives confirmed that the Galaxy Player was developed with Google’s full support.
The Galaxy Player will be the first Android-based personal media player to earn Google’s new smart player certification with full Android support, including Google Apps and full Android Market access alongside its own Samsung Apps marketplace via Wi-Fi.
Previously, Google resisted efforts from smaller manufacturers to develop and sell Android-based media players with full Google Apps and Android Market support.
With the Samsung Galaxy Player, Google has decided to change its mind for media players as Google Experience devices, albeit by essentially requiring the same hardware as a high-end Android smartphone without the cellular radio in a similar vein to the iPod Touch.
The Galaxy Player is currently available for pre order in the UK with no word on a US launch.
Can you please let me know where i can pre-order this in the UK?
