Samsung A990 Heads To Verizon, Sprint Considering

PCS Intel has been hard at work over the weekend getting the full picture on the just-revealed Samsung A990. The A990 is the CDMA counterpart to the high-end ZX10 for GSM/UMTS. It combines the thin design of the Samsung A900 with the swivel display, memory card, and battery life of previous Samsung models.

We can confirm at this time Verizon Wireless will launch the device initially, as shown on FCC documents released earlier in the week. Sprint is considering the device as well, but the device has not entered the approval process at this time. We can also confirm that the retail price of this phone is being classed internally by both carriers as “the highest retail price seen for non-smart phones to-date”.
