According to a report filed by Reuters citing a source close to talks, HTC has decided against making a bid for Palm after reviewing the manufacturer’s financial state. With this latest move, the only serious bidder for the company remaining is Lenovo, as Huawei also pulled out of bidding for the manufacturer earlier this month.
This follows statements made by CEO Jon Rubenstein yesterday detailing how the company can return to profitability as an independent entity and his acceptance of opening up the webOS platform to third-parties along with mentioning work on new devices in development.
