PwnageTool has been updated to 1.1. As we previously reported, Apple had blocked PwnageTool from activating and unlocking the latest iPhone betas.
Apple did this by modifying how the iPhone software payload was bundled, making it more difficult for PwangeTool to access the firmware
The latest update works around that added layer of security from Apple, and can successfully activate all beta builds from Apple now, including 9A540d, the latest release. In addition, version 1.1 adds improved support for 1.1.4 (the latest fully-released firmware), and offers an option to uninstall BootNeuter.app (the iPhone-portion of the tool, once the patching has been completed on the device).
The removal of BootNeuter.app is important, as once it is removed Apple has much more difficulty in distinguishing between an unlocked, and a locked iPhone at repair locations.
