Not long after the confirmation of the Virgin Mobile version of the LG Optimus this weekend, the first image confirming its pricing has been revealed.
The $149.99 pricepoint suggests an exceptionally deep subsidy for an Android smartphone on an American prepaid carrier, as the current Samsung Intercept on Virgin Mobile is being sold for $249.99 and may also be a predictor of omitted features. Virgin Mobile has yet to officially confirm pricing and availability of the Optimus V.
The Optimus S as sold on Sprint features a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, 3.2 megapixel camera with video recorder, 512MB RAM/256MB ROM underpinned by the Qualcomm MSM7627 at 600MHz, visual voicemail support, Sprint ID, Wi-Fi with hotspot support, GPS and microSDHC card slot. It is expected that the Virigin Mobile version will be identical to the Sprint version in terms of hardware.
