PhoneNews.com is announcing a change in formatting, and will cease coverage of mobile devices, carriers, and all consumer advocate coverage. Instead, the news service will focus on reporting on the latest content services.
From texting, to getting wallpapers on your phone, to paying for ringtones, PhoneNews.com will be your one-stop-shop for all-things-content.
“When I first played Diner Dash 3, which is still in development, that was when I made the call. Forget about devices, reinventing the wheel is officially cool again.” – Christopher Price, MechaWorks CEO, PhoneNews.com Editor-in-Chief, and all around nice guy.
In addition, the Phone Encyclopedia will be replaced with the App BS. The wiki-driven system will be replaced with a BBS-style discussion, where users can post their high scores in the latest mobile games.
While the service will be limited to text initially, it will eventually support direct MMS uploading. Users will be able to post photos of themselves, holding their phones, all on their own.
April Fools everyone… stay tuned as CTIA coverage begins now. Wall-to-wall show coverage, our Thursday special announcement, and (as always) the most HD live shots.
Happy April Fool’s day!
