Palm has issued an updated Java virtual machine for their devices. The WebSphere Everyplace software enables Palm device owners to take advantage of applications such as Opera Mini.
The new version comes in at 5.7.2. It improves support for the keyboard on the Treo 680 and 700p, as well as how the application quits. In addition, it improves support for various MIDP Java calls.
The update is compatible with most previous devices that support IBM Java, including the Treo 600/650/680/700p/755p, Tungsten (C, T3, E, E2, T5), T|X, Zire 72, and LifeDrive. Palm however has disconinued support for a few older devices; the Tungsten T2, W, and Zire 71.
