Following up on the Pre announcement for Sprint, Palm has confirmed that it is developing a GSM/UMTS version of the device primarily for carriers outside of the US.
This makes the first version of the device a timed exclusive for Sprint, with the GSM version following soon after the exclusivity period expires with no further information at this time regarding possible carriers or pricing.
The Pre is already causing a lot of commotion for the platform developer with many giving the Pre a resoundingly positive reception since its CES introduction this afternoon.
I wonder how long before one of the home carriers get it. Didn’t did it take for ATT to get the Centro?

How soon. I’ve been waiting for a good Linux phone for several years. As it appears that Nokia is choosing Windows CE, yuk!, they are now out.
