Opera Software has released beta version 4.1 of their venerable and incredibly useful web browser for Java-based phones.
The changes made to this version include up to 50% faster page rendering, an integrated upload and download manager (JSR-75 support required) that allows for attachments to email, downloading attachments to the phone, and photo uploads without redirecting to the built-in WAP browser, address auto-completion, and saving pages for offline viewing.
Opera is also offering builds signed with developer certificates for testing with devices that require signed applications before they can be run such as devices on AT&T, Sony Ericsson, or Nokia devices. The intention is to reduce the amount of dialog boxes that pop up requesting redundant information every time which can lead to a frustrating user experience.
it does seem faster
I have tried all the versions on my Mogul and it constantly freezes locks up. It works great when it actually works. Very fast and very easy to use. The constant lock ups are a pain though.
