A former SonyEricsson T608/CDMA team member (who I am assuming wishes to remain anonymous, please contact me if otherwise) sent me the following code that enables some very useful menus.
Dial ##8786368 (##TSTMENU). Then press the Menu key, and select Add Number. The following menu items are now enabled.

Menu->9Settings->7Other->2Time & Date->3Set Time
->4Set Date
->5TimeZone
->6Daylight
Savings
->7Auto Time Zone
Turning display sleep off will, yes, believe it or not kill the (very, very frustrating) screensaver. Be sure to turn off any screensaver that you have chosen, as it will constantly loop draining the battery.
The time zone options will let you override the time set by the CDMA tower you are connected to.
