There is new information on the Samsung U340. As shown in the picture
it will be launching on Verizon. The phone is a low end model, with
basic specifications such as a VGA camera, external display, and basic
PIM functions. The phone will also include an analog radio for roaming,
which is becoming more and more of a rarity in new phones. There is
speculation that the phone will be sold for $29 with a two year
agreement, which would make it a bargain for anyone needing analog
roaming.
The new U740 dualhinge messaging phone is now expected to be
sold for $250 with a two year agreement. The phone is packed with a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD expansion and VCAST support.
The dualhinge refers to the standard clamshell flip that can flip up
the display in a horizontal lock to use the phone as a messaging
device, similar to the Samsung D307 sold on Cingular.
