Motorola Q PRO Launched For Enterprise Users

Motorola has released a new version of the Q at CES aimed for mobile enterprise professionals and mobile officials in government that need security features above all else. The Motorola Q PRO is designed to be easily deployed and customized by IT departments for their particular enterprise. The main changes are in software. Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF viewers are standard as is the Word document editor. The biggest additions in the software suite include a built in security suite with numeric PIN or alphanumeric password authentication, intrusion detection with a built in firewall, real time event logging, advanced data erasure, and a VPN client.

Another change targeted towards enterprise IT departments is the complete customization of the device by ordering through an enterprise portal and staging service. This allows enterprises to completely customize the devices according to hardware and software needs (Example: disabling the camera and adding enterprise specific instructions.) The device ships with an extended battery, auto power adapter, and mono headset. This device can only be ordered through Motorola. No carriers have been announced.
