Speaking during the D11 conference earlier this evening, Motorola Mobility CEO Dennis Woodside has officially confirmed the often rumored Motorola “X Phone” as the Moto X, which will be the first Motorola flagship smartphone that will be released across multiple carriers and be the first flagship device to be assembled in the US, as Motorola has confirmed that the phone will be assembled outside of Ft. Worth TX in a former Nokia manufacturing facility.

“It’ll be the first Motorola smartphone built in the United States. It’ll be built in Texas — we’ll employ around 2,000 people. It’s right outside of Fort Worth in a 500,000 square foot facility that was previously used to build Nokia phones.”
Woodside did not actually show off the device even though he was in possession of one at the time of the confirmation, and the above tweet confirms the previous statement regarding the location of the Moto X assembly line. More details are expected within the next few weeks.
