Motorola Introduces New Phones At 3GSM (With Photos)

Motorola has always been known to create striking new designs that
somehow become ubiquitous over time, yet still manage to impress us day
after day. They have announced 5 new phones that they hope will reach
the same level of success as their venerable RAZR, and by the looks of
some of them, may be even bigger.

The MOTORIZR Z8 is Motorola’s attempt to redefine the slider form
factor by designing a gradual curve upward into the body of the phone
(called a “kickslide” by Motorola), making it easier to speak into
since the microphone is pointed towards the mouth and the speaker is
closer to the ear.

The phone is the definition of a packed featurephone.

For starters,
it
runs Symbian below a custom user interface that provides all major
functions with one button, (music player, media player, camera, photos)
HSDPA 3.6, a 2.0 megapixel camera with video recording and 8x digital
zoom, a front-mounted VGA camera for video calling, an email client
supporting SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, SSL/TLS, microSD expansion slot with
support for up to 4GB, Bluetooth with A2DP support, 90MB of internal
memory, and a 2.2 inch QVGA screen with support for video playback at
30fps in a 15.9mm body.
Battery life is rated at five hours talk time with up to 16 day standby
time. The phone is expected to launch in the first half of the year
with no price information available at this time.

The Motorola q9 is the first Windows
Mobile 6 Standard device from
Motorola. The device includes a landscape display, quadband GSM with
HSDPA support, Blutetooth 2.0 with A2DP support, a USB 2.0 port for
full speed file transfers, microSD expansion, and a 2.0 megapixel
camera.

Software included is Office Mobile, full support for Microsoft
Exchange push email, and PIM tools.  The phone is expected to
launch in the second quarter of 2007 with no
pricing information available at this time

The Motorola Qgsm is an update to the
venerable Q smart device. It
includes Windows Mobile 6 Standard and support for quadband GSM/EDGE
with a slight redesign and thumbwheel for navigation. The device is
expected in the second half of 2007 with no pricing information
available at this time

The Motorola MOTOKRZR K3 is an update to the successful KRZR K1 that
adds HSDPA support and an internal camera for video calling. The main
camera is now rated at 2.0 megapixels and the external screen is much
larger.

The main display is now a QVGA 65K color screen at 2.0 inches.
Bluetooth with A2DP is available as is larger internal memory at 50 MB,
which can be expanded with microSD expansion. The phone is expected to
be available in Dark Pearl Grey and Stone Grey during the first quarter
of 2007

The Motorola MOTOSLVR L9 is an update to the successful SLVR L7, and
the only phone announced that does not have HSDPA support. The phone
features a 2.0 megapixel camera, 20MB internal memory with microSD
expansion, music player with support for MP3,
AAC, e-AAC, and e-AAC+ music and an FM radio.


 It also includes an airplane mode to use
the phone as a media
player where phone use is not allowed. Bluetooth 2.0 is included with
support for A2DP and a miniUSB port. Battery life is rated at 6.6 hours
talk time with a standby time of 14.5 days. The phone is expected to
launch in the second quarter of 2007 with no price available at this
time.

Motorola is really striving for more
success in 2007 with these models, and by the looks of them, they will
make many phone enthusiasts and interested consumers very happy and
satisfied.
