Taiwanese GPS hardware manufacturer Mio has followed the path of Asus-Garmin and announced a navigation-oriented smart device with the main difference being that the device is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 rather than Linux.
The featureset consists of Windows Mobile Professional 6.1, quadband GSM/EDGE and triband HSPA (850/1900/2100 MHz), a 3.5 inch WQVGA touchscreen display, Qualcomm MSM7201A 528MHz processor with 256MB ROM and 128MB RAM, Wi-Fi radio, Bluetooth 2.1 with stereo audio support, microUSB port, 3.0 megapixel camera with autofocus and geotagging support, MicroSDHC expansion slot, and accelerometer for screen orientation.
Befitting its namesake, the Explora also features an internal GPS transceiver along with A-GPS silicon for navigation along with support for major navigation programs and platforms.
