9:11 AM – IDG screwed up again this year and did not let us into the conference room until well into the Keynote. The keynote is well under way, we can’t tell you what has happened until right now, you can thank IDG.
9:13 AM – So far, it is the year in review for Apple. Apple has sold 14 million iPods and 8 million videos last year. Saturday Night Live has been added to the iTunes Video Store.
9:16 AM – iPod FM radio (new product), $49.99, it is a part of the new remote earbuds. Available today.
9:19 AM – It’s Macworld, the rest of the keynote will be about Mac.
9:23 – Aperture video.
9:24 – Over 1500 dashboard widgets. New Apple widgets, Google, New Address Book, Snow Conditions, New Calendar, White Pages, ESPN Widgets.
10.4.4 Released Today, with new widgets.
9:25 – iLife ’06. iPhoto: faster, more optimized. Up to 250,000 photos. Full-screen editing. One-click effects. New calendars, books, hard and soft cover. Cards too. Photocasting, people are updated via .Mac and will then appear in other user’s iPhoto app that they have subscribed to.

9:40 – iMovie. Animated themes (new), realtime effects and titles. Supports multiple open projects. One-click export to iPod. Video podcasting support.
9:45 – iDVD. Widescreen themes added, quick-creation theme for faster DVD creation. New themes, improved slideshowns. Enhanced Map View editing. 3rd party DVD burners supported.
9:46 – GarageBand. Added podcast studio, “best tool in the world for making podcasts”. Over 200 royalty free sound effects, 100+ royalty free jingles. Ducking and speech enhancer for less powerful microphones. iChat interview remote recording to GarageBand.
9:48 – GarageBand Podcasting Demo. Steve mocking the rumor sites with a rumor podcast.
9:53 – New iLife app for web development, designed for sharing other iLife content, blogs, podcasts. iWeb.
9:54 – The hierarchy of other web apps. Either easy and ugly or hard and beautiful. Apple-designed templates, iLife media browser, online photo albums. Blogs and podcasts, one-click publish to .Mac.
9:56 – iWeb to use AJAX for photo viewing… iWeb demo.
9:59 – iWeb includes iTMS linkings, Photocasting subscription support, and content management system for blogging, RSS generation, etc.
10:06 – iLife ’06 available today for $79; $99 for family pack (5-license).
10:07 – Over one million .Mac subscribers currently. iWork ’06 adds 3D charts, advanced image editing. Image reflections built-in. Freefor shapes & masks. Tables with calculations, alone with new themes and templates. Available today, same pricing as iLife, 30-day trial in all new Macs.
10:08 – Mac hardware. Over a million Macs a quarter. Intel transition overview.
10:09 – Intel bunny appears, actually, it’s Paul from Intel. Hands Steve a mock oversized chip saying “we’re ready”. Steve: “Apple’s ready too”.
10:12 – Ahead of schedule, Intel Macs rolled out today. Intel iMac goes first.
10:13 – Same iMac sizes, same design, same features, same prices. What’s different? 2-3x faster than the iMac G5.
10:14 – iMac to use Intel Core Duo processor (Yohan Dual Core). 2.0 GHz Processor.
10:16 – Jobs touts Mac OS X multithreading to drive Core Duo. Mac OS X Intel complete, Intel-clean. iLife and iWork ’06 are Universal Binaries, demos were run on Core Duo iMacs.
10:17 – Pro apps to go Universal in March. Latest versions will be crossgraded for $49.
10:18 – Next version of Quark express to be Universal, beta program available.
10:19 – Rosetta completed. Microsoft introduced, Office and Messenger “on track” to go universal. Updates will be provided to improve Rosetta support, Sync Services for “mobile devices” (they didn’t say Windows Mobile) will be added. Entourage to gain Spotlight support.
10:22 – Microsoft makes an official agreement to continue shipping Office for Mac for the next five years.
10:23 – iMac Core Duo demo. Showing Intel/Universal and PowerPC/Rosetta apps.
10:25 – Two iMac models. 17″ with 1.8 GHz processor, 667 MHz FSB, 160 GB SATA, 8x Superdrive. Radeon x1600. 20″ also available. Shipping today.
10:27 – All Mac models to go Intel this calendar year. First Mac TV ad in years… explains Intel transition.
10:28 – “One More Thing”… PowerBook. Performance per Watt delivered. Core Duo built from the start for this. 4.5x better than G5 in power per watt. MacBook Pro. Yes, new name, Power is bye-bye. ~25% thinner. 4-5x faster than PowerBook G4.
