LG has officially announced the LG VS740 as the LG Ally for Verizon Wireless, with a special promotional tie-in to coincide with this week’s US release of Iron Man 2 in an augmented reality application for Android that simulates Tony Stark’s power suit heads up display and the requisite sweepstakes promotions.
The VS740 will be the first LG handset on Verizon to feature Android along with the latest version in 2.1 along with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, but other technical specifications in the 1GHz Snapdragon chipset, 3.5-inch AMOLED screen and 5 megapixel camera with 720p video recording have yet to be confirmed. The device will be launched on May 20th with pricing yet to be confirmed at this time.
