This is why you should link to the source. I’m sure if you dug deeper than just scraping the firmware from xda-developers, you would have seen that a simple regedit:
“Those of you running Sprint ROMs should navigate to the following registry key “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing” and delete the string value named “Extension”. This will allow you to connect to the Internet via the “Internet Sharing” app without the dreaded error 67/authentication errors.”
will apparently punch the hole needed to allow ICS (I do not have a titan and thus have not tested nor can vouch for this edit)
And while your over there, you should notice that the new Touch ROM has been released there as well.

I am attempting to update my phone, which had several bugs, freezes, and does not have Sprint TV. However, the link provided will not update my Mogul HTC, which I purchased in April. The phone does not recognize the program. Do I have to download this to my pc and then sync it? Because my pc is not recognizing the link either? When is sprint set to release the update? They are still shwoing the march 10th update as the primary update to Windows mobile.

“This makes Mogul the first PDA Phone on Sprint to offer both Sprint Navigator, as well as Sprint TV, in a single device.”

    Uh…. BlackBerry Pearl and Curve??

Where is Sprint Navigation after the update?

to use PAM 1 can simply rename phone as modem to sprint PCS or whatever connection available under

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>comm>internetSharring>settings>ForceCellConnection

  13. Patrick

The install worked just fine, but it doesn’t have the sliding panel interface that Microsoft has been hyping. Anyone else have this problem?

  14. Cammie

I’ve been around and around with Sprint for 14 days now about PAM and it will not work and they refuse to do anything about it. Other than selling me a Sprint card with a $10 discount. wow.. i’m impressed!
Anywho… I tried your suggestion of:
    1) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing” and delete the string value named “Extension
to use PAM 1 can simply rename phone as modem to sprint PCS or whatever connection available under

    that didn’t work so tried:
    2)HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>comm>internetSharring>settings>ForceCellConnection

And I still get the error 67.
Any advise??? Anyone else continuing to have this problem?

  16. olusi

I upgraded from windows mobile 6.0 to 6.1 and the installation worked successfully. Every thing was cool. But I cannot recieve or make calls from the phone.

Please, what should I do to solve this problem.

  17. olusi

I just updated my sprint mogul smartphone from windows mobile 6.0 to 6.1 professional, everything went well but I cannot make or recieve calls from the phone.

Following the suggestions above, I managed to get internet sharing to work with my Mogul and laptop using a USB connection. The bad news is that I haven’t managed to get the Bluetooth connection to work as well.

Maybe that’s because I wasn’t able to follow the suggestions exactly. For instance, it said go

to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing” and delete the string value named “Extension”.

When I went there I didn’t find anythinge named “Extension.” Instead I simply deleted “String Forcell Connection” under \Settings.

In any case, can anyone suggest what I might need to do to get the Bluetooth PAN connection to work not the USB connection works?

I updated my Mogul from Windows Mobile 6.0 to 6.1 and I am able to make and receive phone calls, however when I place a call, the phone automatically switches to roaming, even when the phone is set to stay in the “Sprint Only” Network. I called both Sprint and HTC and they haven’t heard of this being a problem with the new update. I talked to another guy I know who has the same phone but through Alltel, and they warned him not to update his phone due to roaming issues the new update is causing. Texting, surfing the web, watching TV (which for some reason wasn’t available with 6.0) and GPS all work fine. Even when receiving calls the phone stays on the sprint network. Sprint’s fix was a PRL update, no luck. Is any one else having the same problem, and have you found a way to fix it?

  21. Craig

Thanks Moe. That PAM fix worked for me as well.

  22. watson

I was able to get to the registry to delete the Extention entry, but I got an access denied error and wouldn’t let me delete it. It also wouldn’t let me delete the StringForceCell entry. Any suggestions?

  23. watson

I finally got it to work, I had to use a different regedit program, but I got it. I will have to double chekc ont he charges later..

Thanks a lot you are a life saver.

Is there any way to get into settings other than from start to settings on MOGUL? After installing Sprint os 3.35 with windows 6.1 and restoring my settings from Sprite backup the settings will freeze up and I have to do a soft reset. I am not able to bring up the setiings screen period. One of my settings or software on the restore
causes the settings not to work. A hard reset and not restoring my Sprite backup and the settings works OKay.

  25. Waltdog

I’m having the same problem, I updated my phone last night (which I now regrat) Cause I use my phone a lot for my laptop, and now I can’t get online.

  26. Canxpress

I’m having a problem getting the internet sharing to work. My HTC, which I purchased last year (April), had to be replaced because the USB port wasn’t working. They replaced it with a refurb. unit with the 6.1. Is there a chance to get the internet sharing to work?

  27. MichShad

I have never tried to do a RegEdit. Can someone tell me step for step what to do?

I need to update 6.1 so I can use my Mogul as PAM again.

    Thank you
