The specifications for an unannounced HTC Android tablet have leaked and confirm that HTC will be competing directly with LG’s forthcoming G-Slate, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab and Motorola’s Xoom.
Known as the Flyer, the tablet will feature a 7-inch, 1024×600 resolution display, identical to the current Galaxy Tab, Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor as found in the Desire HD, HDMI port, DLNA support for wireless streaming, 5.0 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and facial recognition, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat with Skype preinstalled, a new version of Sense with a “desktop” feel with HSPA support.
A 10-inch tablet version is also in development to compete with the iPad and will feature LTE support with availability in stores sometime in the second half of the year. This follows HTC’s push to compete against the aforementioned manufacturers with a strong push of 4G enabled devices as evidenced by its lineup demonstrated earlier this month during CES.
