Bloomberg has filed a report confirming that HP will retain its Personal Systems Group after a review of its operations determined that the group was intertwined with key access to suppliers and integrated into core company operations. The confirmation of the retention of the confirmation has also been followed with the confirmation that HP is in the process of reviving its tablet line with the goal to launch Windows 8 tablets in the future.
The confirmation of the retention of the Personal Systems Group follows a harried four month period for the conglomerate which saw it nearly implode in terms of perception and short-term activity as former HP CEO Leo Apotheker made three decisions which were seen as unwise in abandoning PC hardware and acquiring software developer Autonomy while abandoning its acquisition of Palm by ending support for webOS hardware, which led to the firesale of TouchPad tablets and Palm phones during the summer.
