Without warning, Google has officially discontinued three Play Edition devices in the 2013 HTC One (M7), LG G Pad 8.3 and the Sony Mobile Z Ultra tablet. The three were previously available and listed as out stock as late as last month while in terms of availability, the HTC One (M7) was the oldest model in that slate, having been available since last Summer shortly after the Spring launch of the first version, while the Xperia Z Ultra and LG G Pad 8.3 were the most recent additions to the lineup, having been added late last December.
Currently the remaining Google Play Edition devices in the HTC One (M8) Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Moto G are the only ones readily available for purchase as a result of the delisting and neither Google or manufacturers have hinted at future Google Play Edition devices. The three discontinued devices were also notable for being the most expensive devices in the lineup at one point, with the G Pad 8.3 at $399 and both the HTC One (M7)and Z Ultra being listed at $649 each unlocked.
