While Qualcomm declined to respond to our requests for information as to EV-DV’s current status over a week ago, they decided to answer the exact same question days later. At which time, they confirmed that they are placing EV-DV on-hold to evaluate if the wireless industry needs it. The response was cryptic at best about EV-DV’s status and gave the indication that EV-DV’s value was no longer clear to Qualcomm.
Considering Qualcomm’s “wall of silence” to us, we will have to give our viewership the coverage that they don’t want you to hear about EV-DV. Specifically, what EV-DV really is, why it cannot die, and why Qualcomm wants the industry to think it is dead. This will be in a muti-part report over the next week.
