ESPN Mobile has launched its service this week, with the Sanyo 9000 from Sprint, which they have call the “MVP”. With ESPN branding, as previously reported, the device will retail for $499.99 with a $100 rebate. The phones will be sold nationwide at all Best Buy stores early next year.
However, the plans are expensive for even moderate data users. ESPN mobile only bundles 35 MB of data (and 100 text messages) with voice plans, giving the option to add an additional 5 MB of data for $10. Data overage is 1/4 cent per kilobyte.
