The hotspot is a standard ZTE-manufactured hotspot with a small LCD display for wireless status.
This is a great deal for those who have T-Mobile service and want to have a backup hotspot device. It also may work on T-Mobile MVNOs such as Simple Mobile and Straight Talk, but you should check with the terms and conditions of your MVNO to see if they are permitted.
T-Mobile’s prepaid pricing is only a good deal with the special online-only $30, 5 GB per month offering. The standard hotspot rates are inferior to offers from Virgin Mobile, Clearwire and others. Still, on the off chance T-Mobile provides superior coverage where you are, it is a good price to have as a backup device.
