Deal: AT&T Novatel MiFi 2372 – $59.99

By Humberto Saabedra on September 5, 2011

AT&T MiFi 2

For the next six hours, the AT&T MiFi 2372 from Novatel is on sale to its lowest point outright since launch at $59.99. The Novatel MiFi 2372 features support for small applications via Novatel’s Developer Lounge and was one of the first MiFi models carried by AT&T. The Novatel 2372 was first announced in July of 2009 by Novatel with the debut of the Developer Lounge which would allow for interested developers to deploy third-party applications via Novatel’s own storefront. The unit also features a microSD slot.

The first generation of MiFi modem/routers was initially confirmed to include app support in a firmware update, but was quietly abandoned as the units did not have enough memory/processing power to support the app functionality and operating system necessary for the feature to work, therefore the 2372 is the first and only Novatel MiFi model to support its Developer Lounge program.

The main reason the device is being sold at this price, is its lack of HSPA+ support. Still, it is a good device for people who currently reside primarily in an area that lacks HSPA+, especially a rural area that is not expected to receive 4G speeds any time soon.
